On the margins of the EAEU events, they talked about the prospects of the Summer University and signed agreements on cooperation in science and education

Rector of the Ural Federal University (UFU) Viktor Koksharov, Rector of the Siberian Federal University (SFU) Maxim Rumyantsev and Vice-Rector of the Kazan Federal University (KFU) Timirkhan Alishev spoke at the panel discussion "Summer University as a platform for introducing foreign youth to the potential of Russian education".

This summer, three leading Russian universities - UFU, SFU, and KFU - will launch a large-scale "Summer University" project to train students from Russia, the Middle East, and the Far Abroad. The two-week intensive will not only promote Russian education in the world, but also form a new growth point for the socio-economic development of the Eurasian Union. 

18 educational programs, including those in English, no less than six profile tracks from each operating university, and one program of professional development for teachers have been prepared for the participants. 

Speakers noted the high interest in participation from foreign students. According to Timirkhan Alishev, the number of applications at the moment exceeds the number of places at the KFU campus by almost two times. 

In addition, a cultural block with excursions, master classes and other activities at the discretion of the organizing university has been developed for the participants.

It is worth noting that this year the "Summer University" project will cover 24 countries and unite about 1.2 thousand students. 

Also on the margins of the exhibition were signed agreements in the field of science and education. 

Mari State University and the Indian company "Rus Education Pvt. Ltd." signed an agreement to promote the brand of the Republic of Mari El and its capital Yoshkar-Ola as a university city in foreign countries. Joint activity of the parties will be aimed at increasing the attractiveness of Russian education on the international market of educational services and increasing the volume of investments into the economy of the Republic of Mari El from non-resource exports. In particular, the document provides for measures on adaptation of students from India, studying in Mari HEI.

Another agreement on cooperation in the field of intelligent transport systems, artificial intelligence and neural networks, mathematical and simulation modeling was signed between RUT (MIIT) and the Federal Research Center "Informatics and Management" of RAS.

An intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of academic degrees in the EEU member states was also adopted.
