Russia and Iran are ready to expand cooperation in the sphere of higher education and science

Over the last 5 years the number of Iranian students studying in Russia has increased almost 3.5 times (from 1926 to 6551). The most popular among them are: linguistics and literary studies, medical science, applied mathematics and physics, pharmaceutical science, economics.

Dmitry Pyshny, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, noted that the Russian Ministry of Education and Science is ready to support training in the specialties in demand for the Iranian economy by increasing the quote (full tuition fees scholarships) of the Russian Government for Iranian students.

For the 2023/24 academic year, 300 budget seats have been allocated for Iranian citizens. 

An important step for further increase of quotas will be the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of education, qualifications and degrees between two contries.
